What is the Travellers’ Choice Awards?

The  Travellers’ Choice Awards, which fall under the TripAdvisor umbrella, was first established in 2002 and is today the highest honour TripAdvisor can give to those featured on the site.

Establishments are given the award based on the opinions and reviews of the many millions who contribute their experiences to TripAdvisor, every time they go somewhere new. This annual award aims to give recognition to the best tourism establishments and they are based on customer satisfaction, the quality of the service received, and the quality of the service, to name but a few.

The awards are not based on popularity, but rather the full experience that encourages people to keep coming back for more.

How is the Travellers’ Choice awarded?

The award might be based on information left on TripAdvisor, but ultimately it is not TripAdvisor who chooses who gets the award; that is up to the travellers! To win this award, establishments need to bring their A game. Not only do they have to make sure that they provide the very best service and keep their establishment in the best condition, but they also need to respond to guests who have perhaps had a less than satisfactory stay.
